I have fought for the last hour to stay awake. I have had no snow to plow this winter, and my projects this winter, have been long and arduous. I just keep thinking I have aged a lot since my surgery, or I just have not built up my stamina enough. But, that’s not it. I really had to think hard before it hit me. I worked a lot this morning. Ever notice that menial tasks can be more exhausting than your normal day-to-day work load.?
I got up early. Checked all my sites for movement…..that is going well. Then, showered, started laundry. Ate some breakfast, put my shoes on, got the coat and out to get wood. Two trips filled up the wood box, and by golly…..it was freezing out there!!!! Called mom, talked for a bit. Got the dishes done, cleaned the rest of the kitchen. Got the vacuum out and cleaned the livingroom, kitchen and hallway. All sucked up. Dog hair under control. Then more laundry. Made up lunch for later and let it simmer the morning away. Wood in the stove and brewed up some coffee. Finally, taking a moment for myself. And in all of that, my dog wanted in and out. And…….in and out. Max can’t seem to make up his mind.
Now, after looking at all of that……..why would I be tired? (insert sarcasm here!) I am beat. I took my shoes off, slipped on a soft sweat shirt, and put my feet up. The coffee was divine and the fire is keeping me warm. Max finally curled up by the back door….(and I really wish he would stop rolling in stuff), and I think, I need to just lay down and relax. I have earned it.
